ED! Sustainable Summer Design Experience 2012

VIDE is one of the partners of the ED! activities in sustainability!

Before starting the ED! Master ‘Sustainable Graphic and Communication Design’ in September, ED! will organise the Sustainable Summer Experiences in The Hague as from 13 until 31 August.
Guided by several international active designers we will offer the ‘Sustainable Identity Design Experience’ as well as the ‘Sustainable Experience in Communication’. Regarding to several subjects and activities, both Experiences will be linked if necessary.

The Experience program will be prepared with the greatest care and will be guided by several top designers and communication experts.
The experience will be totally offered in English!
The fee of this 3 weeks Summer Design Experience will be 2.400 euro’s.
The fee includes hotel costs in The Hague and Berlin throughout the Experience period as well as lunch, coffee, tea and soft drinks provided during the Experience in The Hague.
Participants, who are already living in the Netherlands and/or don’t prefer a hotelroom, will pay 2.050 euro only.

Part of the Experience is the ED! Berlin Experience: a one week (21.08 – 25.08) visit to Berlin, Germany!
The trip by train to Berlin and the hotel costs in Berlin are included.
Discounts of 5% are given when you register before the 1st of June, if you bring your own laptop and if you are part of a group of at least 3 participants.

One of the questions is to send us a digital portfolio, so we are able to receive important information about the skills and experiences of the participants in design. This information helps us to design the Experience program.
An important part of the program is the experience of Dutch Graphic Design. Therefor we pay visits to design agencies in The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The Design Experience will be closed by a free accessible presentation or exhibition of the Experiences results.

Program outline
During the first week, the participants will be introduced in the several topics of sustainable graphic and communication design. Several trainers and organisations are asked to design lectures and workshops concerning
• Sustainable Graphic Design and Communication
• Sustainable Design Materials
• Sustainable Design Thinking and Innovation
• Sustainable Social Communication
After the first week, the attendees will receive an assignment, composed by ED! and another organisation. At this moment we are planning appointments with organisations and companies which are interested in the results of sustainable design concepts, adjusted to their needs and activities.
At the end of this Sustainable Summer Design Experience the participants will present and exhibit their results!
